School of the Arts
Do I have to pay now? Can I set up a payment plan?
All classes require a non-refundable $25 deposit, $50 for Full Day Camps and $100 for Youth Stage. Payment plans are available to anyone who prefers to split up their balance into two or three installments. No application is required; simply call the School of the Arts (801-532-6000 option 3) to make arrangements.
Will there be a performance at the end of the class?
The final class of each session has 30-45 minutes set aside at the end for friends and family to observe what the students have learned. This is not a performance, but rather an opportunity to get a better sense of what the students experienced throughout the session.
What happens if I want to cancel the class?
If you cancel your registration after it has been processed, but at least two weeks before the class begins, we will refund tuition, less a $25 registration fee per class, $50 fee for Youth Stage. If you cancel your registration with less than two weeks' notice, no refund will be given.
Cancellation by CTSA: We reserve the right to cancel a class if enrollment is insufficient. Any tuition paid will be refunded in full.
We want all students to be satisfied with their experience at the School of the Arts. If, after attending the first day of class, you decide that you do not want to continue, let us know before the second class and we will refund your payment (minus the $25 or $50 deposits and $10 registration fee). After the second day of class, no tuition or enrollment adjustments will be made.
School Shows
When do we need to arrive and when will we be finished?
Plan to arrive at 10:15am. The show starts at 10:30 and you will be
excused at 11:45am, including the question and answer period.
How long is the actual show?
The whole experience is and hour and fifteen minutes including an introduction,
short intermission and question and answer period at the end.
When do I have to pay? Or do I have to make a deposit to get a reservation?
Make a reservation when you plan your trip, payment is due
1 month before the performance date. Once payment is made, we do
not offer a refund. However, for seats not used we do offer a ticket to return to a public
performance for students who are unable to come on the scheduled day.
Is the play the same as the book?
It depends. Most of time it is the same as the book. Sometimes if the book is of a series, some of the books are combined into one. If it is a piece of classical literature such as Sleeping Beauty, the script will be based on the story line as there is no difinitive book or version of the story.
What age group is it appropriate for?
Again, this varies with the play. But, we attempt to make all our shows
elementary age appropriate, Pre-K to 6th grade and beyond. Babes in arms are not admitted.
How much are seats? Are there discounts for Title One schools?
$5.00 per seat (children and adults) for groups of 15 or more. (Smaller
groups at regular prices)
Who performs? All children? All Adults?
The cast is based on the needs and style of the production. As we perform during the school day, some children's characters may be performed by adults.
Can I buy and extra seat at the door?
Yes, if there are seats available.
Do teachers or chaparones come free?
No.
How many chaperones do we need to bring?
You pay for each seat. You may bring as many or as few as you feel you
need.
Do I have to be with a school to come to a daytime show?
We accept any group who acts like a group. (One payment, one contact
person for a single performance.)
Where will we be sitting? Can we sit on the front row? If we get there first will we get the front row? Where are our tickets?
